O little town of Kendal,
How still we see thee lie.
While you’re asleep,
We’re deep in the depths of healthy dough.
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
Your bakers keep a watchful eye.
The silent stars go by,
From the fellside to the farmhouse.
Yet in thy dark streets shineth,
Fairy lights beckoning you forward to sparkling bakes; Cinnamon Twists and crunchy topped Pain de Campagne.

Our ovens will be roaring daily from 18 December (dawn to dusk), till the oven gloves fold on Saturday 23 December when our little elves and bakers hang up their hats to enjoy the Christmas festivities – eat, rest and be merry!

Well, merry on, we hear you cheer.

Rye Berry Sourdough is a delicious dip in a glass of port, with a tasty mature cheddar cheese. Epic with pates and pork. What’s not to like? Don’t forget to add it to your Christmas wish list.

Our Bread Store elves, north and south, are busy organising your orders. Order, order yes please, especially if you have a favourite in mind – don’t miss out!

Our store orders are now open and close on 18 December, (online orders close on 13 December) giving our elves and bakers time to bake and pack your goodies. If you are more of a dive-into-the-bread store on-the-day (kind of gal or guy) – then that’s super okay but don’t leave it too late to kick off your duvet – we don’t want you to miss out on your favourite treats.  The counter will be bursting with pastries, beautifully baked sourdoughs, and scrumptious focaccias.  Deck your table with tasty bread and much more.

It’s rather chilly, sourdough loves a chill. You can freeze the loaves and squirrel a little something away for all your festive feasting. Pop your loaves in the waxed bags provided (via the bakery elves), defrost them naturally, then pop them back in the bag. Voila, Christmas sorted.
