Celebrating Sourdough
What an extraordinary Real Bread Week we have just shared together! A true celebration of all things sourdough, from our crops up in Penrith to the Burneside mill, and of course, the delicious Lovingly Artisan loaves that have recently left the ovens.
A week of pure sourdough sharing joy!
We tapped into your passion for all things sourdough and what makes the perfect loaf. You were amazing, and your enthusiasm carried us through the week. You all dived in with such curiosity and energy, with plenty of thoughts, questions, and warm-hearted comments, reminding us why we love making tummy-nourishing sourdough.
We shared our 35-year – old starter
There is something truly powerful in knowing that our 35-year-old starter is bubbling away in kitchens far and wide, nourishing tummies, bringing goodness to your tables, and becoming part of your weekly rhythm.
For some of you, it was your first time baking sourdough; for others, it was about taking a broader step on a journey you have already begun. Either way, you welcomed our teachings so openly, so thank you. If you joined us partway through or are still on a mission to craft your own loaf, then now might be the perfect time to revisit the recipe cards.
The first recipe is an insight into making your own sourdough starter, and the second is the Lovingly Artisan classic rustic white sourdough recipe, with plenty of hints and tips added in.
Consider this our way of keeping the conversation going…
Real Bread Week reminded us why we do what we do. It is about more than flour, water, and salt. It is about connection to the craft, to community, to better ingredients and to each other. You made this week one to remember, and we thank you.
