Sourdough Pasta made with Barber Wheat

After what feels like countless bowls of pasta (a hardship we’re more than willing to endure!), we’re so pleased to introduce the newest member of the Lovingly Artisan family, Sourdough pasta made with Barber Wheat.

24 Hour Slowly Fermented Sourdough Pasta.

It starts in the fields with the Taylors at Eden Yard near Penrith and Andrew Wilkinson over in Northumberland, where beautiful grain is grown with care, respect for the soil and a real belief that farming should leave the land healthier for the next generation.
Made with our own stone-milled organic Barber wheat and our over 35-year-old sourdough starter, the dough is slowly fermented for 24 hours before being gently dried. It’s a little slower, a little more patient, and, if you ask us, a whole lot tastier.
The sourdough fermentation helps unlock incredible grain flavour and creates a pasta that’s wonderfully satisfying, with a depth of character that’s hard to find anywhere else. Many of our taste testers were astounded by how wonderfully gentle it is on sensitive tummies, making it an easy favourite for everyday suppers.

The best bit? It couldn’t be easier.

A quick six minutes in generously salted, boiling water and dinner is sorted.
It’s made for midweek family meals, impromptu suppers with friends, feeding hungry little ones, fuelling gym sessions, post-fell adventures and those evenings when you simply want something comforting without compromising on quality.

The sourdough pasta represents something even bigger.

It’s another step in our Soil to Sourdough journey. Grain is grown here in the North. Milled here in Cumbria. Slowly fermented with the same starter that has been at the heart of our bakery for 35 years. British through and through, rooted in good farming husbandry and helping us create a beautifully full-circle bakery where every grain has a purpose.
So, next time you’re filling your basket with your favourite loaf, why not let a bag of sourdough pasta come home with you too
