Celebrating Farming at Cartmel Show

Have you got your tickets for Cartmel Show yet?
If not, then now’s your chance! Taking place on Wednesday 5 August, it’s one of the best days in the local calendar and a proper celebration of farming, food, and countryside life. This much-loved agricultural show is shaping up to be a real hoot, with enough entertainment to keep the whole family smiling from morning until home time.

From brass bands to fancy dress

Expect vintage cars and tractors, a lively dog show, traditional Cumberland wrestling, a brass band, mounted fancy dress, and plenty more besides. Whether you’re eight or eighty, there’s truly something for everyone. In fact, it’s one of those rare days out where the hardest decision is what to see first.
So, pack a picnic blanket, gather the family and let us take care of the bread.
We’ll be there with our bread truck, fully stocked with ciabatta, baguettes and grissini, ready for anyone putting together a picnic. Bring a blanket, pack a few local cheeses, and we’ll sort the bread.
We’ll also have the coffee machine running all day, so whether the sun’s got its hat on or we’re reaching for the waterproofs, there’ll be a hot brew waiting for you.
We’re particularly looking forward to bringing along our new sourdough pasta. If you’ve got any questions about pasta, flour, baking or fermentation, Aidan and Catherine will be there all day and always happy to chat; they will also be hosting a talk.
Agricultural shows remind us why we do what we do. They celebrate the farmers who grow our grain, the makers who craft with care and the communities that keep these traditions alive. They’re places where friendships are made, knowledge is shared, and great food brings people together.
So come and spend the day with us. Wander the show, cheer on the wrestling, admire the livestock, enjoy the music, and bring the dog. Just make sure to call by our lovely Bread Truck
Do come and find us. We’ll have the bread ready, the coffee on, and we’d love to see you there. Cartmel Show is a cracking day out, and one not to be missed.
