A Wholesome Sunday Morning with BBC Radio Cumbria

We kick-started our Sunday morning in the loveliest possible way: chatting with the wonderful Fiona Sadler on BBC Radio Cumbria about all things sourdough.

There’s something quite magical about sourdough

From the quiet magic of slow fermentation to the farmers who grow our grain, to the craft of milling our flour, and to the care that goes into every loaf, it was a joy to share a little more of the Lovingly Artisan story.

For us, sourdough has always been about far more than bread. It is about time, patience and provenance. It is about nurturing our 35-year-old starter, championing thoughtfully grown grain and building meaningful connections between the soil, the mill, the bakery and your kitchen table.

It was such a wholesome and uplifting way to begin the day, and the perfect warm-up for our Countryfile feature! We feel incredibly fortunate to have these opportunities to celebrate the farmers, makers, millers and bakers who bring our story to life. As ever, it is a true team effort, and we could not be prouder of everyone involved.

If you missed the conversation, or if you are pottering around the house and would enjoy a little Sunday listening, pop the kettle on, settle down with a cuppa and perhaps a slice of sourdough, and join Fiona and us for a deeper glimpse into the world of Lovingly Artisan.

We hope it leaves you feeling inspired to think a little more about your daily bread: where it begins, how it is made and the remarkable journey from soil to sourdough.
