The Baker’s Dozen, what does that mean?
As groovy as it might be, we don’t expect you to leave our Bread Store with a bag full of a dozen loaves. Ciabatta, maybe but loaves, no!
That would be one fab party you’re hosting, or maybe you have a dreamy large freezer worth filling – now there’s a thought!
The baker’s dozen is one of those medieval myths that’s widely accepted. The humble village bakers would bake an extra loaf, to avoid a flogging, harsh times – thank goodness those times have changed. Life as an artisan baker is way happier in todays world!
So, what does a Baker’s Dozen mean to us?
We have been voted number 1 out of an amazing gang of 13 artisan bakers, some of the best bakers in the country. How did that happen?
Voted number one in Britain with British Baker
Being voted number one again for the third-year running blew us away, all is still sinking in not just for us but for our team of amazing bakers too. Bakers and industry leaders voted for their favourite bakers, influencers, and those who inspired them. To be voted number one for a third-year running is simply incredible.
