Britain’s Best Loaf and Cake Awards

There’s something special about this time of year in the baking world. A quiet hum of anticipation builds into a celebration of craft: the flour-dusted benches, the instinct honed over time, bold ideas brought to life through fermentation, our woodfire oven, and care. It’s a moment where the spotlight turns, quite rightly, to the people behind the loaves – the bakers.
One of the most regarded awards in the industry is the Britain’s Best Loaf and Cake Awards, hosted by British Baker. There is something rather exciting about these awards, hosted every year by British Baker at the Farm Shop and Deli Show. It’s pure inspiration, an event we truly look forward to.
Returning with seven awards is something we’re deeply proud of, not just for the recognition itself but for what it represents.

Every sourdough loaf has a story to tell; each loaf is made with purpose.

The Rye Berry Sourdough and Wholemeal Barber – awarded Gold,
Both have incredible depth of flavour and intrigue, made with wholegrains, slowly fermented and crafted with real care. They both make the perfect toast.
Our Cheese & Marmite and White Sourdough Tin, Two very different loaves, one a bread bin staple, the other a show-stopping customer favourite, once eaten, never forgotten. Our Cheese and Marmite Sourdough has its own fan club in Cumbria and at Altrincham Market – awarded Silver.
The Malted Barley sourdough was awarded Bronze and is a quiet reminder that every loaf has its place, each contributing to your daily essential fibre intake. Malt is one of our signature flavour tones and is often found in our bakes, such as our flapjack, Malt Fruit Teabread, and many more. But beyond the medals, this is a celebration of our people.
Celebrate the bakers with us…
This recognition belongs to the bakers, those who stand at the heart of it all and to the leadership that nurtures creativity and innovation. Aidan Monks and Dean Fletcher have helped create an environment where ideas can take root and grow, where tradition and forward-thinking sit side by side.
In an industry built on the sharing of knowledge, nourishment, and community, it feels especially meaningful to pause and acknowledge moments like this. Three cheers to the bakers.
Because behind every award-winning loaf is something far greater than a recipe.
And that’s always worth celebrating.
