Forty Farms Farmers Market – 4 July Rheged Penrith
On Saturday, 4 July, find us at Rheged with the Forty Farms of Kendal Farmers Market.
We’ll be there from the early hours with our bread truck filled to the rafters. For the early risers, the brews will be ready to go alongside our delicious brekkie bakes. Our pastries begin with our grain; they are all made using our Rustic White Flour and Cumbrian Wholegrain Flour, leaving just a touch of bran that carries more flavour from the field through to the bake. The result is an epic pastry that has a little more depth, a little more character, and a much stronger connection.
Growing Grain Chemical Free
They are growing grain chemical-free, no glyphosate and without artificial fertilisers, choosing instead to nurture the land and build fertility naturally. It’s slower; it takes patience. But the results are extraordinary and worth the wait. Because when the soil is alive, the grain is alive.
Wheat grown in nutrient-rich soils for a depth of flavour
Those nutrient-rich soils bring a depth of flavour, character, and nourishment to every loaf we bake. You can taste it in the crumb and crust. This is bread shaped by the seasons, rooted in the landscapes around us, and deeply connected to the farmers who grow the grain.
In a world where food often travels thousands of miles before reaching our plate, we’re proud to bake with grain grown much closer to home and milled just five minutes down the road from the bakery. Grain with a story and truly local provenance.
And what better place to celebrate this story than at Forty Farms?
Whether you’re bringing the family, meeting friends, gathering supplies for a summer picnic, or simply enjoying a day amongst some of the region’s most inspiring farmers and producers, we’d love to see you there.
Come and find us. Follow the smell of fresh bread, grab a coffee, and let’s talk grain.
