Mayday, Mayday
It’s time to press pause
Happy bank holiday weekend, bread lovers. Or should we say happy bank holiday month, because the next few weeks are bringing us three gorgeous holiday Mondays on which to take a break, do our own thing, recharge our batteries.
We can’t all enjoy the official BHs – key workers and hospitality heroes will be working as hard as ever. But here at Lovingly HQ we’re big believers in blanking out bespoke ‘bank’ holidays on the calendar now and then for enjoying simple pleasures such as seeing friends, being outdoors and eating good food.
How might you start such a precious day? Preparing a good breakfast and enjoying it slowly would be top of our list. We’d carve our favourite sourdough into slices to top with eggs, meats, cheeses or a simple sliced tomato sprinkled with sea salt. Or we’d savour our sensational new celebration bread – Dark Chocolate Malt with Orange – sliced straight from the loaf, no adornments required. Now we’re thinking about it, we might have to add a flaky, buttery croissant into the mix, too, dunked into really good coffee. And that’s after we’ve kicked things off with a bowl of fresh fruit and yoghurt sprinkled with Lovingly Artisan granola…
Have we told you about our new granola?
Granola – If you haven’t tried it yet, prepare to meet your new breakfast crush. It’s toasted and mixed at Lovingly HQ by our bakers’ gentle hands, bursting with wholegrains to gift our guts a probiotic/prebiotic boost. Oats, millet and linseeds are toasted in honey and spices before being gently combined with sultanas.
You can find it on our website and in our Bread Stores alongside our oat-so-delicious new flapjacks…
Have we told you about our new flapjack squares?
Flapjack – If not, prepare to meet your new picnic crush. We have Catherine’s mum to thank for these golden beauties. Her recipe nails the balance of crunch, crumble and squidge, and we bake it with our noses tuned to the perfect degree of toastiness. We hand-wrap them in string-tied parcels for you to take on your bank holiday adventures – whether they’re happening on a hillside, on a picnic rug or in the pages of a gripping book.
