Advent and sourdough

During advent, we’d like to share this period of celebration with you – our besties. You are the reason we leap out of bed so early and it’s an absolute pleasure.  You’ve all been super amazing and just the best folks to bake for.

So other than Christmas, what does advent mean to us?

A – is for awards. Yep, you believed in our vision, our dive into biscuit making and one of the awards that has given us so much joy is the Northern Bliss-cuit. It matters to us, and it matters to our bliss-cuit baking crew. When Raymond Blanc, awarded us gold for this little square of deliciousness, we couldn’t have been happier.

D – is for Danish Rugbrod or as we call it our little ‘Ruggy.’ You trusted our taste buds, our desire to push your boundaries too. Our German styles loaves feature significantly on our counter and it all started with our delicious Rugbrod. A little love, a super food, another award winning nutritional hero and everything your body needs daily.

V – is for vision. The mill, the future. Burneside is our new additional bakery store. The baby in the crib. It’s got a lot of growing to do but with your love, our love and lots of love we’re creating something rather magical for the north, and for YOU our northern eaters.

E – is for effort. The love and care our gals provide from when you work through the door of our lovely bakery store to the warm service provided over the counter. There’s also our lovely little team of elves who carefully create your Christmas orders, from the picking, the beautiful wrapping and the packing. And most importantly, the special little sprinkling of Christmas cheer as we hand you your orders.

N – is for naughty. Yep, naughty but very nice. It’s that special time of year when we all like to be treated. Why not swing by our lovely bakery store to pick up some scrumptious pastries? There’s so much to choose from, however, we’ve created a special one for Christmas – our lovely little Snow Ball. Filled with boozy fruits and topped with a little crème pâtissière – it’s an absolute winner. Don’t miss out on this ball of deliciousness. Gone on, we won’t tell anyone.

T – is for taste. We’ve got lots of lovely tasters on counter, as well as tasty loaves, including our Ancient grains, whole grains and carefully blended loaves. Free of all the nasties, yet filled with lots of delicious surprises from Spiced Apple to Malted Barley, our lovely new Khorasan and not to forget our scrumptious festive loaf – the lovely Rye Berry. Go on spoil yourself this Christmas.Christmas often creates a fuzzy little world for all of us with lots going on and lots of things we need to do to make it extra special. To help make this festive season a little easier for you, we’ve chosen to be open on Sunday 22 December and Monday 23 December. We’ll be closed on Christmas Eve for much rest and lots of sourdough merriment.

Ho ho ho your way to Christmas this advent with lots of lovely treats.
