Easter buns for your Easter bunnies

Yell(ow) if you love Easter

If Easter was a colour, it would be yellow: the colour of daffodils, primroses, those cute fluffy-chicken cake decorations – and our sensational Saffron Buns. Our bestselling breakfast buns are inspired by the Cornish saffron cakes that have been eaten in the West Country for centuries – traditionally on Good Friday, where they were served with clotted cream. They’re a fabulous treat when gently warmed in the oven and eased apart to expose their tender, sultana-studded dough, which gets its sunshiney colour from real saffron. That’s why we include them in our Breakfast-in-Bed box, a Lovingly wrapped parcel of tasty goodies that you can order from our website to any address in the UK (last orders for Easter Weekend on Wednesday April 5). All orders available in store only.

Good Friday Feeling

Our Bread Stores are open on GOOD FRIDAY [times to go here] to help you fill your Easter baskets with fresh-from-the-oven Saffron Buns and other sweet and sourdough treats to savour over the holiday weekend. The Lovingly pastry crew will be working extra hard in the early hours of Friday to make sure our shelves are full of croissants, pains au chocolat and cinnamon swirls, all handmade using grass-fed Normandy butter. Turn up at any gathering with a bag full of these under your arm and you’ll be more popular than the Easter bunny.

Hard-working hero

Lots of you tell us you love to keep a Spiced Apple Sourdough or two in the bread bin when Easter guests are coming. It pairs beautifully with sweet and savoury flavours – from fruit jams and nut butters to strong cheeses and sizzling sausages – so it’s a standby to keep everyone happy. There’s no better way to eat it – IOHO – than thickly sliced, toasted and trowelled with butter.  It’s like a hot cross bun with bells on.

Love in a tin

Have you tried our fabulous new chocolate loaf yet? Dark Chocolate Malt with Orange has got everyone in our Bread Stores going giddy with Easter vibes. This white sourdough tin, marbled with brewers’ chocolate malt, Belgian chocolate and Mediterranean dried orange peel, was made for lazy days with loved ones. We think it makes a gorgeous alternative to an Easter egg as a gift for someone special – tied with a yellow ribbon, of course!
